Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CSR Officer to join our team at Sahamati Foundation. The CSR Officer will be responsible for driving fundraising efforts, managing donor relationships, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. Additionally, the candidate will play a key role in building partnerships with NGOs to develop and implement field programs aligned with Sahamati’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Philanthropic/CSR Proposal Writing: Lead the development of compelling philanthropic and CSR proposals tailored to the requirements of donors and funding agencies. Ensure alignment of proposals with Sahamati’s strategic objectives and programmatic priorities.
- Donor Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports for donors, highlighting project achievements, impact, and financial accountability. Maintain open lines of communication with donors to address inquiries and provide updates on project progress.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing and potential donors, including corporate entities, foundations, government agencies, partner organisations and individual philanthropists. Engage in regular communication and stewardship activities to strengthen donor engagement and support.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including program managers, finance, technology and monitoring & evaluation, to ensure alignment of grant activities with Sahamati’s goals and objectives. Facilitate coordination and communication across departments to streamline grant management processes.
- Donor Requirements Compliance: Stay informed about donor regulations, guidelines, and compliance standards relevant to the Indian philanthropic landscape. Ensure adherence to donor-specific reporting schedules, financial documentation, and project milestones. Proactively identify and address any compliance issues or concerns.
- NGO Interface and Partnership Development: Interface with partner NGOs to co-create and implement field programs aligned with Sahamati’s mission and objectives. Identify potential collaboration opportunities and establish strategic partnerships to enhance program impact and reach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, international development, business administration). Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fund/grant management, proposal writing, fundraising, or donor relations within the India Development Sector.
- Strong understanding of donor requirements, funding trends, and compliance standards in the Indian philanthropic landscape, particularly in the context of digital financial inclusion.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals, reports, and donor communications.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, NGOs, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software/tools.
