About Sahamati Foundation:
Sahamati is a market-driven, non-profit industry alliance ushering in Open Finance in India through the Account Aggregator (AA) framework. Account Aggregators are the third building block of the India Stack, the country’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), after Aadhaar and Unified Payments Interface (UPI). AAs are consent managers (CMs) that enable secure and seamless sharing of financial data with explicit consumer consent, ensuring data control and privacy.

Role Overview

The Member Governance Associate will play a critical role in assisting the Senior Manager of Governance in defining the participatory governance framework for Sahamati ecosystem members. This role offers rare exposure to real-world governance design at the intersection of self-regulation, finance, data, and digital rights. This is a high-ownership role that requires attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and strong coordination skills. Your work will help uphold the transparency, credibility, and effectiveness of participatory governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the refinement of Sahamati’s codes of conduct, guidelines, and participatory governance initiatives.
  • Support management and documentation of deliberations in committees, councils, working groups, and consultations; and translate discussions into actionable draft guidelines, codes of conduct and best practices.
  • Work closely with ecosystem participants to gather feedback and build consensus on the updates to codes and best practices.
  • Draft explanatory notes, papers, and guidance material to support member understanding and adoption of governance initiatives.
  • Track and analyze member feedback to refine governance bye-laws and work with the legal department to resolve interpretation issues.
  • Prepare internal briefs and public-facing reports on ecosystem adoption levels and the effectiveness of governance initiatives.
  • Support publication of updated governance materials in collaboration with the legal and communications teams.
  • Conduct research on governance frameworks globally, especially in Open Finance and related sectors.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Finance, Technology Policy, or related fields.
  • 2–5 years in governance, risk & compliance, public policy, or tech ecosystem policy roles.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory and governance frameworks
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex governance discussions.
  • Systems thinker, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about fairness in digital ecosystems
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination abilities
  • Familiarity with Account Aggregator Framework, Open Finance, digital consent systems, or similar data governance framework, is a strong plus.
